Before starting Banyan Investments, Aamir spent 25 years with Cargill, Incorporated in the United States, South America, Europe and Asia. Cargill, Inc. (headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is one of the world's largest corporations involved in agriculture and global food and commodities. At Cargill, Aamir held various executive positions including treasury, global funding, strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Cargill, Aamir spent 10 years with KPMG in Europe, Middle East and Asia, involved in the assurance practice and in management consultancy. Aamir thus brings with him over 35 years of global financial and general management experience to the opportunity in Detroit.
Aamir is a Chartered Accountant (CPA) and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
As co-founder and general manager of the Banyan Investments group, Scott is specifically responsible for determining the acquisition strategy in terms of geographic locations and specific properties. He is also responsible for overseeing the projects team.
Prior to starting the venture in Detroit, Scott has had experience in property investment, rehabilitation and rental management with investments in Sydney and London, as well as the real estate market in France and Singapore.
Scott has a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
Wayne has been a successful broker in the Detroit area for the last 45 years, including running his own brokerage business (Lakeshore Realty). Wayne is highly respected in the areas in which he operates, including the historic West Village and Indian Village, where he has been directly involved in intensive restoration projects on multiple properties, as well as surrounding areas like Wyandotte and Trenton. Wayne acts as the advisor to the CEO and the general manager on property selection and geographic target area selection. He is also responsible for the negotiation and closing of large or complex transactions for the Banyan group.
Wayne graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Kelly has extensive experience in the property management industry, having spent the last 20 years working in this industry in and around Detroit. A licensed property manager, Kelly has responsibility for leasing, renewals, resident relations, retention, rent collections, delinquencies/court proceedings etc. She is also responsible for maintenance issues, dealing with both the tenant and the contractor.
Previously, Kelly has worked for The Home Store, where she managed a portfolio of over 200 homes.

Jason was born and raised in Detroit. He has been a Realtor for over 12 years and has an impeccable record of selling homes and buildings both inside the City of Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. Jason worked over ten years for the Marygrove Awning family of Companies where he was the National Director of Installation and Service for the company. He personally worked on projects at the Detroit Tigers home-- Comerica Park, the Detroit Pistons home--The Palace of Auburn Hills--the Detroit Lions home--Ford Field and DTE Energy Music Theatre. While at Marygrove he served as co-chair on the board of directors for the Young Professionals of the Industrial Fabrics Association International. Now with Banyan Investments Jason is tasked with finding new properties to continue to add to its ever growing portfolio. Jason works closely with Jeff Hopkins on a daily basis to make sure budgets are adhered to and that projects remain on track.
Jeff has over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry working in Detroit and other parts of Michigan. A carpenter by trade, Jeff has worked on complex projects and manages the various aspects of a property renovation/ restoration. This includes coordinating with the various sub-contractors for specialist services like roofing, electrical and plumbing work. Jeff is responsible for reporting progress back to the management team and executing the game plan on the ground.
Ca’Mis has been in the accounting field for nearly 10 years, first starting her career in the governmental sector as a tax clerk for the City of Highland Park in 2006. In just over a year, Ca’Mis was promoted to Senior Tax Assessor, in which she managed the city’s Income Tax Department for the next three years. During this time she headed an amnesty program, which resulted in the collection of over $200,000 in delinquent city income taxes. After leaving Highland Park, Ca’Mis went on to work for the City of Hamtramck’s tax division for a short while and then decided to broaden her accounting experience beyond tax accounting. Since then Ca’Mis has worked in various areas of accounting, including but not limited to, revenue accounting, accounts receivable/payable management, payroll, and cost accounting.
Ca’Mis is a Certified Bookkeeper and has an Associate Degree in Business. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Erica is responsible for facilitating the leasing of homes by showing them to potential renters and assisting with the application process. Before joining the Baynan team, Erica worked in ReSale Management and has over ten years of customer service experience.
Erica has a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.
